Granzyme K is a 28 kDa tryptase-like serine protease secreted by cytotoxic T lymphocytes and natural killer cells, and it has emerged as a marker of interest in studies of immune aging, chronic inflammation, and cytotoxic lymphocyte biology. Unlike Granzyme B, which drives apoptosis through caspase activation, GZMK primarily cleaves protease-activated receptors and contributes to proinflammatory cytokine release, making it a distinct analyte for dissecting non-apoptotic cytotoxic mechanisms in human disease research.
The Assay Genie Human Granzyme K (GZMK) ELISA kit provides a quantitative, plate-based read-out for measuring this protease across multiple human specimen matrices. The kit accepts blood-derived preparations, tissue homogenates prepared from biopsy material, cell lysates, and cell culture supernatants, supporting both clinical sample analysis and mechanistic in vitro work with primary lymphocytes or established cell lines. Packaged as a 96-assay kit with reagents sufficient for a full plate of standards and unknowns, this product is intended for research use only and is appropriate for longitudinal cohort studies as well as targeted single-analyte experiments in immunology, autoimmune disease, and inflammation research laboratories.
