Human GNMT PharmaGenie ELISA Kit (SBRS0643)

This GNMT-targeted ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is calibrated for the quantitative measurement of glycine N-methyltransferase using a colorimetric readout in cell culture supernatants, plasma samples, and serum samples. GNMT is the principal hepatic enzyme responsible for transferring a methyl group from S-adenosylmethionine (SAM) to glycine, producing sarcosine and S-adenosylhomocysteine (SAH), and it sits at the centre of one-carbon and folate metabolism by regulating the cellular SAM-to-SAH ratio.

Quantitative GNMT measurement is widely used in metabolic disease and oncology research, where altered hepatic GNMT expression has been documented in hepatocellular carcinoma, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, and prostate cancer, and where circulating GNMT levels are being investigated as a candidate biomarker of methyl-group homeostasis.
