Description

From Assay Genie, the Human GMF beta ELISA Kit is a sandwich ELISA employing a double-antibody format for the quantitative measurement of GMF-beta (Glia Maturation Factor beta) in human samples. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is validated for use with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. GMF-beta is recognised by the synonyms GMFB, GMF, and glia maturation factor beta (UniProt P60983), and is of interest in cell biology research, particularly for studies of microglial function and neuroinflammation.

The kit reports a sensitivity of 18.75 pg/mL and a measurable range of 31.25-2000 pg/mL. Reported linearity (n = 5) spans 89-101% (serum, 1:2-1:8), 90-105% (EDTA plasma), and 90-99% (heparin plasma), with recovery averages of 99% (serum), 94% (EDTA plasma) and 98% (heparin plasma). Reagents are intended to be stored at 2-8°C, with stability claimed for 12 months. The workflow involves equilibrating reagents, a 37°C primary incubation of 90 minutes, biotin-labelled detection antibody incubation (60 minutes), HRP-streptavidin binding (30 minutes), TMB colour development (10-20 minutes, in the dark), and absorbance reading at 450 nm after stop solution addition.

Sample preparation guidance includes clotting and centrifugation at 1000 × g for 20 minutes for serum, anticoagulant collection with centrifugation at 1000 × g for 15 minutes at 2-8°C for plasma, homogenisation in PBS with protease inhibitors for tissue, centrifugation at 2500 rpm for 5 minutes for cell culture supernatant, and lysis buffer with protease inhibitors for cell lysates.
