Quantify Glyoxalase I (GLO1) in human-derived samples with this ELISA kit from Assay Genie. Glyoxalase I is a zinc-containing cytosolic enzyme that catalyzes the first step of the glyoxalase pathway, converting the methylglyoxal–glutathione hemithioacetal into S-D-lactoylglutathione. It serves a central role in methylglyoxal detoxification, and altered expression is studied in diabetes complications, tumor metabolism, neurodegeneration, and oxidative stress research.

The kit is configured as a 96-assay microplate format and is validated for measuring GLO1 in tissue homogenates and cell lysates prepared from human samples. Researchers working in cell biology, toxicology, and metabolic disease can use the supplied standards and matched antibody pairs to build a standard curve across a range of protein concentrations. Unopened kit components should be stored refrigerated according to the product insert and equilibrated to room temperature before use.

Packaged reagents include pre-coated plate wells, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, wash buffer concentrate, substrate solution, stop reagent, and assay diluent sufficient for the full plate. The protocol requires a small sample volume per well and follows a standard incubation and wash sequence compatible with common automated plate washers and spectrophotometric readers.
