Glycyl-tRNA synthetase (GARS) catalyzes the attachment of glycine to its cognate tRNA during protein synthesis, a process essential for translational fidelity. Mutations in the GARS gene are causally linked to Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 2D and distal spinal muscular atrophy type V, inherited neuromuscular disorders featuring progressive motor and sensory neuropathy. This in vitro Assay Genie research tool enables quantitative measurement of GARS protein in clinical specimens, supporting studies in aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase biology, peripheral neuropathy pathogenesis, and biomarker discovery. The microplate-based protocol incorporates a 37°C incubation step.
