Human Glycosylated hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie's sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of human Glycosylated Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), a key biomarker reflecting long-term blood glucose levels in individuals with diabetes. The assay is reactive with human samples and accepts serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Detection is colourimetric, with absorbance read at 450 nm using a microplate reader.

According to the manufacturer's specifications, the kit delivers a detection range of 7.8-500 ng/mL with a sensitivity of 3.9 ng/mL. Precision is reported as an intra-assay CV of 5.5% and an inter-assay CV of 10.7%. Linearity has been demonstrated across serial dilutions in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. Recovery averages 102% for serum (range 96-108%) and 104% for plasma (range 98-110%). Specificity covers natural and recombinant human HbA1c. The kit is intended for research use only and is not suitable for over-haemolysed samples.

HbA1c forms when glucose reacts with haemoglobin over the normal 120-day lifespan of the red blood cell; its concentration is much higher in individuals with poorly controlled diabetes, making it a useful marker of long-term glycaemic control and treatment management.
