Description

This Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is intended for the quantitative detection of human Glycosaminoglycan xylosylkinase (FAM20B) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric, sandwich ELISA detection format and is specific for natural and recombinant human Glycosaminoglycan xylosylkinase.

The assay has a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.11ng/mL, with an intra-assay CV of 6.9% and an inter-assay CV of 9.8%. Linearity has been demonstrated for serum (82-91%, 106-116%, 101-110%, 109-118%), EDTA plasma (96-105%, 106-115%, 90-102%, 97-107%) and heparin plasma (98-107%, 107-115%, 102-112%, 108-120%) at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16. Recovery averages 109% (range 103-115%) for serum and 111% (range 105-117%) for plasma.

FAM20B, also referred to as Xylose kinase or KIAA0475, is a single-pass type II membrane protein located in the Golgi apparatus membrane. It catalyses the 2-O-phosphorylation of xylose in the glycosaminoglycan-protein linkage region of proteoglycans, regulating the amount of mature glycosaminoglycan (GAG) chains. Sulfated GAGs such as heparan sulfate and chondroitin sulfate are assembled on the common GAG-protein linkage region, and xylose 2-O-phosphorylation may influence the catalytic activity of B3GAT3 (GlcAT-I), which completes the precursor tetrasaccharide. The product is for research use only.
