Quantitative measurement of human Glycine N-Methyltransferase protein in research samples is supported by this solid-phase immunoassay from Assay Genie, supplied as a 96-assay microplate kit. GNMT is the principal hepatic enzyme that converts S-adenosylmethionine to S-adenosylhomocysteine while methylating glycine to sarcosine, regulating the cellular methyl-donor pool and one-carbon metabolism. Investigators studying hepatocellular carcinoma, hepatic steatosis, fibrosis, and disorders of the methionine cycle use this assay to track GNMT expression across patient-derived tissue homogenates, cell lysates, and cell culture models.

Each kit provides reagents sufficient for 96 determinations in a microplate format, with an absorbance-based read-out compatible with standard laboratory plate readers. The assay is calibrated for human samples and is intended for research use only. For long-term stability, refrigerate unopened kit components as directed on the vial labels and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles of prepared standards. Reconstituted reagents should be aliquoted before freezing to preserve activity across multiple experimental runs.

This quantitative immunoassay supports studies of hepatic tumor suppression, methyl-group balance, and biomarker discovery in liver and prostate cancer research, where altered GNMT expression has been documented in published studies.
