Description

Assay Genie's sandwich ELISA is designed for the accurate and sensitive detection of human Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH), a key enzyme in glycolysis and cellular energy metabolism that also participates in DNA repair, apoptosis, and membrane fusion. The assay is reactive with human samples and validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants, and other biological fluids, with specificity for natural and recombinant human GAPDH (UniProt P04406).

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.1ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 4.7%, and an inter-assay CV of 7.8%. Recovery in serum averages 91% (range 85-97%) and in plasma averages 93% (range 87-99%). Linearity is demonstrated across serial dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16 in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma. The kit is intended for research use only.

GAPDH is a homotetramer localised to the cytoplasm, cytosol, nucleus, perinuclear region, membrane, and cytoskeleton. Dysregulation of the enzyme has been implicated in cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and cardiovascular diseases, supporting its use as a biomarker in studies of disease pathogenesis and potential therapeutic interventions.
