Human Glutathione S-transferase P (GSTP1) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of human Glutathione S-transferase P (GSTP1), a homodimeric enzyme of the GST superfamily (Pi family) that plays a key role in cellular detoxification. The assay is intended for use with serum and plasma samples, and has also been validated on tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. Synonyms for the target include GST class-pi, GSTP1-1, FAEES3 and GST3.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156-10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.048 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 5.6% and inter-assay CV is 8.9%. Linearity has been evaluated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across dilutions of 1:2 to 1:16, with recovery averaging 101% for serum (range 95-107%) and 103% for plasma (range 97-109%).

GSTP1 (UniProt P09211) catalyses the conjugation of reduced glutathione to a wide range of exogenous and endogenous hydrophobic electrophiles and has been reported to negatively regulate CDK5 activity via p25/p35 translocation. Abnormal GSTP1 levels have been associated with diseases including cancer, and the kit is labelled for research use only.
