Glutathione S-Transferase Omega 1 (GSTO1) is a cytosolic member of the omega-class glutathione S-transferase family, contributing to cellular detoxification through reduction of dehydroascorbate, biotransformation of xenobiotics, and modulation of cellular redox state.

This Assay Genie ELISA Kit provides a quantitative immunoassay platform for measuring endogenous human GSTO1, supplied as a 96-assay microplate configuration with pre-coated wells, recombinant standards, biotinylated detection reagents, and substrate solution for colorimetric readout.

The assay supports investigations of oxidative stress, inflammation, and altered detoxification capacity in cancer biology, neurodegenerative disease research, and environmental toxicology, where GSTO1 dysregulation has been reported as a candidate biomarker. Its known arsenate reductase activity has made the enzyme a target of interest in studies of heavy-metal exposure, while altered expression in tumor tissues has been examined in relation to drug resistance and chemotherapeutic response.

Validated sample types span serum-derived fractions, plasma specimens, cell lysates, and tissue homogenates, supporting reproducible quantification across translational research programs.

Reagent stability is maintained through refrigerated storage as specified in the product insert, and the kit is intended for research use only in laboratory settings. The complete workflow enables inter-study comparison of GSTO1 expression in studies examining redox homeostasis, glutathione metabolism, and disease pathogenesis where this enzyme serves as an indicator of cellular stress.
