Human Glutathione reductase, mitochondrial (GSR) ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the precise, colorimetric detection of human mitochondrial Glutathione reductase (GSR) in human samples including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. The assay shows specificity for natural and recombinant human GSR, supporting accurate and reproducible results across a range of research applications.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.078ng/mL, with an intra-assay CV of 6.6% and an inter-assay CV of 11.5%. In dilution linearity testing using serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples (N=5, dilutions 1:2 to 1:16), recoveries ranged from 87% to 118% across the matrices evaluated. Spiking recovery averaged 109% (range 103-115%) in serum and 111% (range 105-117%) in plasma.

Mitochondrial GSR is a class-I pyridine nucleotide-disulfide oxidoreductase and a homodimeric, disulfide-linked flavoprotein that maintains high levels of reduced glutathione in the cytosol, functioning as a central component of cellular antioxidant defence. Dysregulation of this enzyme has been linked to oxidative stress-related conditions including cancer, neurodegenerative diseases and cardiovascular disorders, making it a valuable target within metabolism research.
