Human Glutathione peroxidase 1 (GPX1) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of human Glutathione peroxidase 1 (GPX1). The kit is designed for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, with reactivity confirmed for human samples.

Performance specifications include a detection range of 12.5-800 U/mL, a sensitivity of 3.12 U/mL, an intra-assay CV of 4.3% and an inter-assay CV of 6.7%. Specificity is reported for natural and recombinant human GPX1, and the assay uses a colorimetric detection method. Recovery is reported as 95-107% in serum (average 101%) and 97-109% in plasma (average 103%). Linearity across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions is shown for serum (87-113%), EDTA plasma (86-115%) and heparin plasma (90-109%), supporting quantification in multiple sample matrices.

GPX1 is a cytoplasmic enzyme of the glutathione peroxidase family that catalyses the reduction of organic hydroperoxides and hydrogen peroxide by glutathione, and is noted for protecting the hemoglobin in erythrocytes from oxidative breakdown.
