Description

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA is designed for the quantitative detection of human Glutaminyl-peptide cyclotransferase (QPCT) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, using a colorimetric detection method. The kit is intended for research use only and is reactive with human samples, with specificity for both natural and recombinant human QPCT.

Performance specifications include a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.056 ng/mL. Reported precision values are 6.4% intra-assay CV and 10.3% inter-assay CV. Linearity has been evaluated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16, with serum recovery ranges of 91–101%, 105–115%, 110–120% and 104–114% respectively, EDTA plasma ranges of 88–98%, 107–117%, 117–126% and 103–114%, and heparin plasma ranges of 85–98%, 90–90%, 94–103% and 105–115%. Mean recovery is 101% (range 95–107%) for serum and 103% (range 97–109%) for plasma.

QPCT is a secreted transferase (EC 2.3.2.5) with a molecular weight of 361, encoded at chromosomal location 2p22.2 (UniProt Q16769, NCBI Gene ID 25797), and functions in the biosynthesis of pyroglutamyl peptides, with a bias against acidic and tryptophan residues adjacent to the N-terminal glutaminyl residue. The stated research area is Cell Biology. Reagent storage temperatures vary by component, as detailed in the kit insert.
