Human Glutaminase (GLS) ELISA Kit

A colorimetric ELISA from Assay Genie targets human glutaminase (GLS), the mitochondrial enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of L-glutamine to L-glutamate and ammonia. Researchers use this kit to quantify GLS protein levels across serum specimens, plasma specimens, tissue homogenates, and other sample matrices, supporting studies of glutaminolysis, tumor cell metabolism, hepatic and renal physiology, and glutamate homeostasis. Reagents are supplied in microplate format and contain materials for 96 individual determinations, accepting the sample matrices described in the enclosed product insert. GLS exists as two principal isoforms, kidney-type (KGA/GLS1) and liver-type (GAB/GLS2), and elevated GLS1 expression is widely reported in proliferating cancer cells, making the assay a relevant tool for oncology, metabolic disease, and neuroscience research projects.
