Human Glutamate decarboxylase 1 (GAD1) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit supports the detection of Human Glutamate decarboxylase 1 (GAD1), an enzyme that catalyzes the production of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), a major inhibitory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system. The assay is intended for research applications investigating GAD1 biology and is reactive with human samples.

The kit accepts serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and uses a colorimetric ELISA read-out at 450 nm. Performance specifications reported by the manufacturer include a detection range of 0.39-25ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.1ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 3.9%, and an inter-assay CV of 7.1%. Linearity has been verified across dilutions 1:2 to 1:16, with serum ranging from 92-102% to 103-113%, EDTA plasma from 85-97% to 99-108%, and heparin plasma from 107-119% to 93-102%. Recovery is 100% (94-106%) for serum and 102% (96-108%) for plasma.

The target is specific to natural and recombinant human GAD1, also referred to as 67 kDa glutamic acid decarboxylase, Glutamate decarboxylase 67 kDa isoform, GAD-67, GAD, and GAD67, which functions as a homodimer with a molecular weight of 66,897 Da (UniProt Q99259, NCBI Gene ID 2571). The kit is intended for cell biology research use only.
