Human Glucose-6-phosphate isomerase (GPI) ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie enables quantitative measurement of human Glucose-6-phosphate isomerase (GPI) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids (C0, S1, S2). The assay is reactive with human samples and is intended for research use only (S1, S2).

The kit reports a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.078 ng/mL, with intra-assay CV of 7.5% and inter-assay CV of 8.8% (S1). Spiked-sample recovery averaged 92% (range 86–98%) for serum and 94% (range 88–100%) for plasma. Linearity has been demonstrated at serial dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16 for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma (S1).

GPI is a multifunctional enzyme that, beyond its canonical role in glycolysis and gluconeogenesis, acts outside the cell as a tumour-secreted cytokine and angiogenic factor (also known as autocrine motility factor, AMF) and as a neurotrophic factor (neuroleukin) for spinal and sensory neurons (S1). The native protein (UniProt P06744) is a homodimer in its catalytically active form and a monomer when secreted (S1).
