Human Glucose-6-Phosphatase,Catalytic (G6PC) ELISA Kit

This quantitative immunoassay from Assay Genie is intended for the in vitro measurement of Glucose-6-Phosphatase, Catalytic subunit (G6PC) in prepared human specimens. G6PC is the catalytic subunit of the glucose-6-phosphatase complex anchored in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane of hepatocytes and renal proximal tubule cells, where it terminates gluconeogenesis and glycogenolysis by hydrolyzing glucose-6-phosphate to free glucose and inorganic phosphate. The kit supports research into hepatic glucose output, type 2 diabetes pathophysiology, and glycogen storage disease type Ia (von Gierke disease), in which loss-of-function mutations in G6PC cause severe fasting hypoglycemia, hepatomegaly, and lactic acidosis.

Reactivity is limited to human samples, and the assay has been validated for use with tissue homogenates, cell lysates, and a range of related sample matrices, making it applicable to cultured hepatocyte models, liver biopsy material, and hepatic cell line experiments. Components arrive in a refrigerated pack and should be kept refrigerated between uses to preserve antibody binding activity through the stated shelf life; protect the plate from light when not in use. Each kit is supplied as a single-use research reagent packaged in a microplate format with all buffers, standards, and detection reagents required to run a full plate of samples and standards in duplicate for research use only.
