This Human Glucagon ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is built on a competitive inhibition immunoassay principle, in which endogenous glucagon in the sample competes with a conjugated reference for binding sites on a polyclonal capture antibody pre-coated on the microplate. The assay is intended for quantitative measurement of pancreatic alpha-cell glucagon in human serum and conditioned cell culture media, supporting research in diabetes, hypoglycaemia, metabolic syndrome, and gut-brain endocrine signalling studies.

Each kit contains a pre-coated microplate, assay standards, detection reagent, substrate solution, and buffers sufficient for 96 assays. Researchers typically load 50 µL of sample per well, with the chromogenic reaction read on a standard microplate reader.
