Description

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of human Glia-activating factor (FGF9), also known as Heparin-binding growth factor 9, GAF, HBGF-9, and FGF-9. The assay is reactive with human samples and has been validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids.

The kit shows a detection range of 78-5000pg/mL with a sensitivity of 32pg/mL. Reported precision values include an intra-assay CV of 6.5% and an inter-assay CV of 8.0%. Linearity across dilutions (1:2, 1:4, 1:8, 1:16) spans 82-94%, 108-116%, 92-102%, and 89-97% for serum; 99-108%, 86-96%, 115-125%, and 99-109% for EDTA plasma; and 106-116%, 89-99%, 107-115%, and 87-97% for heparin plasma. Recovery averages 104% (range 98-110%) for serum and 106% (range 100-112%) for plasma. Specificity covers natural and recombinant human Fibroblast growth factor 9.

FGF9 is a secreted heparin-binding growth factor that interacts with FGFR1, FGFR2, FGFR3, and FGFR4, existing as a monomer or homodimer. It participates in embryonic development, cell proliferation, cell differentiation, cell migration, glial cell growth, survival of neuronal cells, and growth stimulation of glial tumors, making it relevant to cancer research. The associated UniProt entry is P31371, with a molecular weight of 23,441 Da. For research use only.
