Human GLDC/Glycine Dehydrogenase ELISA Kit

Assay Genie offers a Sandwich ELISA, Double Antibody kit designed for the accurate measurement of GLDC (Glycine Dehydrogenase) levels in human samples, including serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The assay is colorimetric and is built around the glycine cleavage system protein P, a key enzyme in glycine metabolism and amino acid synthesis.

The kit has a reported sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL and a measuring range of 0.313–20 ng/mL. Published linearity data cover serum (90–105% at 1:2, 82–100% at 1:4, 80–99% at 1:8), EDTA plasma (86–98%, 84–101%, 87–96%) and heparin plasma (87–100%, 83–101%, 80–96%). Recovery ranges are 85–100% (average 93%) for serum, 87–104% (average 95%) for EDTA plasma, and 91–100% (average 96%) for heparin plasma. Unopened kits are stored at 2–8°C for 12 months.

Dysregulation of GLDC has been linked to non-ketotic hyperglycinemia and some cancers, making precise quantification relevant to studies of glycine metabolism and potential therapeutic development. The protocol follows a standard sandwich workflow: equilibrate reagents, load standards and samples for a 90 minute primary incubation at 37°C, add biotin-labelled detection antibody for 60 minutes, add HRP-Streptavidin for 30 minutes, develop with TMB substrate in the dark for 10–20 minutes, stop and read absorbance at 450 nm.
