The Human GLB1/Beta-galactosidase ELISA Kit from Assay Genie targets lysosomal β-galactosidase, the acid hydrolase encoded by the GLB1 gene on chromosome 3p22.3. Deficiency of this enzyme causes GM1-gangliosidosis and Morquio B syndrome, making quantitative measurement valuable for lysosomal storage disorder research, cellular senescence studies, and age-related tissue remodeling investigations.

Supplied as a complete microplate-based immunoassay, the kit provides a pre-coated plate, lyophilized standards spanning a 0.156–10 U/mL detection range, biotinylated detection antibody, and chromogenic substrate in individual vials. The minimum detectable concentration is approximately 0.05 U/mL, supporting sensitive quantitation of β-galactosidase in cell lysates and tissue homogenates.
