The Human Gla Rich Protein (GRP) ELISA Kit from Assay Genie enables quantitative measurement of GRP, a vitamin K-dependent protein recognized for its inhibitory role in soft tissue calcification. GRP is abundant in cartilage, bone, and dentin during development and is also deposited at sites of pathological calcification such as atherosclerotic plaques and kidney stones. Measurement of circulating GRP supports research in osteoarthritis, vascular calcification, chronic kidney disease, and bone metabolism, including evaluation of vitamin K status.

This research use only kit is configured in a sandwich ELISA format with colorimetric readout, validated on serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, and cell culture supernatants. The human-specific capture antibody shows no significant cross-reactivity with mouse or rat Ucma homologues, supporting clean quantification in human-derived samples. Reconstituted standards and detection antibody should be aliquoted and stored frozen at -20 °C to limit freeze-thaw cycles, while unopened components remain refrigerated. Each kit box contains a pre-coated 96-well microplate, biotinylated detection antibody, lyophilized recombinant standards, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, wash buffer, TMB substrate, and stop solution.

Common applications include biomarker monitoring in clinical research cohorts, assessment of vitamin K supplementation outcomes, and characterization of anti-calcification therapies in cell culture and in vivo disease models.
