This competitive binding assay from Assay Genie quantifies GIP (Glucose-dependent Insulinotropic Polypeptide), a 42-amino acid incretin hormone secreted by intestinal K cells in response to nutrient intake. Used in research on incretin biology, type 2 diabetes, obesity, and metabolic disorders, the kit measures endogenous peptide levels in cell culture supernatants and serum with a 50 uL sample volume. Detection range spans approximately 12.35 to 1000 pg/mL, with sensitivity around 4.92 pg/mL. Reagents should be stored at 4 degrees C and the microplate protected from light.
