Description

Designed for the accurate detection of GIP levels in human serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, cell or tissue lysates, and other liquid samples, this Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie (also known as AssayGenie) offers high sensitivity and specificity for reliable and reproducible results across a variety of research applications. GIP, also referred to as gastric inhibitory polypeptide or glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide, is a key hormone involved in the regulation of insulin secretion and glucose metabolism, and dysregulation of GIP levels has been linked to conditions such as diabetes and obesity, making it a valuable biomarker for studying these conditions.

The assay uses a colorimetric detection method with a sandwich ELISA, double-antibody format, a sensitivity of 28.125 pg/mL, and a working range of 46.875–3000 pg/mL. The kit is intended for use with human samples and should be stored at 2–8°C for 12 months. Linearity has been demonstrated in serum (86–105%), EDTA plasma (82–100%), and heparin plasma (80–100%) across dilution factors of 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8. Recovery ranges are 88–96% (serum), 87–104% (EDTA plasma), and 91–105% (heparin plasma).

The workflow begins with reagent and plate preparation, followed by primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, detection antibody binding at 37°C for 60 minutes, HRP-streptavidin binding at 37°C for 30 minutes, color development with TMB substrate in the dark for 10–20 minutes, and a stop reaction read at 450 nm. Sample preparation guidance is provided for serum, plasma, tissue homogenate, cell culture supernatant, and cell lysate, with further assistance available from Assay Genie's technical support team.
