Human GH2/Growth Hormone 2 ELISA Kit

A sandwich, double-antibody ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human Growth Hormone 2 (GH2) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The colorimetric kit ships with components intended for storage at 2-8°C and a stated shelf life of 12 months.

Performance characteristics reported by the manufacturer include a sensitivity of 46.875 pg/mL and a standard curve range of 78.125-5000 pg/mL. Spike-and-recovery experiments in serum (n=5) returned a range of 86-100% with a 94% average; EDTA plasma (n=5) returned 85-102% with a 92% average; and heparin plasma (n=5) returned 86-101% with a 90% average. Linearity across 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions was 85-99% / 89-105% / 91-103% for serum, 87-96% / 84-94% / 83-95% for EDTA plasma, and 80-95% / 89-100% / 80-100% for heparin plasma.

The workflow uses a biotinylated detection antibody with HRP-streptavidin and TMB substrate, with primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, detection antibody binding for 60 minutes, HRP-streptavidin for 30 minutes, and substrate development in the dark for 10-20 minutes; absorbance is read at 450 nm after addition of stop solution. GH2 is also known as GH-V, GHL, GHV, growth hormone variant, placenta-specific growth hormone, hGH-V, and placental-specific growth hormone, and is associated with Uniprot accession P01242. The kit is positioned for research into endocrinology, growth disorders, obesity, and metabolic disease.
