Human GDF3 ELISA Kit

Assay Genie supplies a Sandwich ELISA kit built on a double-antibody format for the in vitro quantitative determination of human GDF3 (Growth Differentiation Factor 3) concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric readout and is for research use only, with reactivity confirmed for human samples.

The kit reports a sensitivity of 46.875 pg/mL and a working range of 78.125-5000 pg/mL. Spike-and-recovery testing returned average recoveries of 100% for serum (range 95-104%), 98% for EDTA plasma (range 90-104%) and 99% for UFH plasma (range 88-105%). Linearity was assessed by serial dilution of spiked samples, with calculated-to-expected percentages of 88-105%, 90-103% and 85-103% for serum at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8; 86-98%, 86-101% and 82-100% for EDTA plasma; and 80-90%, 83-99% and 83-97% for UFH plasma. Precision is given as intra-assay CV<8% and inter-assay CV<10%. Kit components are stored at 4°C for 6 months.

GDF3 is a secreted cytokine of the TGF-beta superfamily, with documented roles in cell development, eye development, skeletal development and negative regulation of BMP signalling. Defects in the gene have been associated with Klippel-Feil syndrome type 3, microphthalmia isolated type 7 and microphthalmia isolated with coloboma type 6.
