Human GCK/ Glucokinase ELISA Kit

Assay Genie offers a sandwich ELISA kit for the quantitative measurement of Human GCK/Glucokinase. The assay is configured as a double-antibody sandwich ELISA with a colorimetric detection method, and is intended for use with human samples including serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples.

The kit has a stated sensitivity of 0.469 ng/mL and a measuring range of 0.781-50 ng/mL. Storage is at 2-8°C for 12 months. Reported recovery values are 86-105% (average 99%) for serum, 85-98% (average 92%) for EDTA plasma, and 87-104% (average 98%) for heparin plasma. Linearity across 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions is reported as 85-100%, 85-96% and 88-100% for serum, 87-102%, 82-98% and 81-97% for EDTA plasma, and 87-100%, 82-95% and 84-97% for heparin plasma. The assay procedure uses a biotinylated detection antibody, HRP-streptavidin and TMB substrate, with absorbance read at 450 nm after addition of stop solution.

Glucokinase is described as a key enzyme in glucose metabolism, acting as a glucose sensor in the liver and pancreatic beta cells, with dysregulation of its activity implicated in diabetes and other metabolic disorders.
