Description

This sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative detection of human Gastric inhibitory polypeptide receptor (GIPR). The kit is validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids, and uses a colorimetric detection method. The reported detection range is 0.312-20ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.162ng/mL.

GIPR is a G-protein coupled receptor for gastric inhibitory polypeptide (GIP), with activity mediated by G proteins that activate adenylyl cyclase. The receptor plays a critical role in the regulation of insulin secretion and glucose metabolism and is a target of interest in research into metabolic disorders such as diabetes. Specificity covers natural and recombinant human GIPR; the receptor may form homodimers and heterodimers with GLP1R.

Manufacturer quality data report an Intra-assay CV of 6.3% and Inter-assay CV of 9.9%. Linearity was evaluated in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16 (N=5). Recovery averaged 103% (range 97-109%) in serum and 105% (range 99-111%) in plasma. The kit is listed for the neurosciences research area and is for research use only. Synonyms: Glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide receptor, GIP-R. UniProt: P48546. Subcellular location: cell membrane, multi-pass membrane protein.
