Human GAPDH ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit enables the in vitro quantitative determination of Human GAPDH (Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase, UniProt P04406) in serum, plasma, and other biological fluids. The assay uses a double-antibody sandwich configuration with colorimetric detection and is intended for research use only.

Spike-and-recovery in serum (n=5) was 91–98% (average 94%), in EDTA plasma 89–104% (average 93%), and in UFH plasma 85–99% (average 93%). GAPDH is a multifunctional enzyme with glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase and nitrosylase activities, central to glycolysis and the production of ATP and pyruvate via anaerobic glycolysis. It also participates in apoptosis, membrane trafficking, iron metabolism and nuclear processes such as transcription, RNA transport and DNA replication, and its dysregulation has been reported in several cancers, including lung, renal, breast, gastric, glioma, liver, melanoma, pancreatic, colorectal, prostatic and bladder cancer, with oxidative stress impairing its catalytic activity.
