Human Galectin-3-binding protein (LGALS3BP) ELISA Kit

The Assay Genie Human Galectin-3-binding protein (LGALS3BP) ELISA Kit is a sandwich-format immunoassay for the quantitative measurement of LGALS3BP in human samples, including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants, and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric ELISA detection method and is intended for research use only.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.78-50ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.34ng/mL. Precision values are an intra-assay CV of 7.1% and an inter-assay CV of 10.9%. Recovery in serum averages 103% (range 97-109%) and in plasma averages 105% (range 99-111%). Linearity was evaluated at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16, with serum ranging from 86-120%, EDTA plasma from 92-120%, and heparin plasma from 97-117% across the dilutions tested.

LGALS3BP, also known as Mac-2-binding protein, is a secreted 65kDa glycoprotein (UniProt Q08380) involved in cell adhesion, migration, and signaling, with reported relevance to cancer, inflammation, and fibrosis. The native protein forms homodimers and homomultimers arranged as ring-like structures 30-40 nm in diameter, and binds LGALS1, LGALS3, ITGB1, COL4A1, COL5A1, COL6A1, FN1, and NID.
