Human GALC/Galactocerebrosidase ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit uses a Double Antibody method for the in vitro quantitative determination of Human GALC (Galactocerebrosidase) concentrations in serum, plasma, and other biological fluids. Galactocerebrosidase is a lysosomal enzyme that hydrolyzes the galactose ester bonds of substrates such as galactosylceramide, galactosylsphingosine, lactosylceramide, and monogalactosyldiglyceride. Dysregulation of GALC is associated with Krabbe disease (leukodystrophy globoid cell), a rare autosomal recessive disorder of myelin catabolism.

The kit reports a sensitivity of 46.875pg/ml and a detection range of 78.125-5000pg/ml. Recovery from spiked serum (n=5) was 87-103% (average 92%), from EDTA plasma (n=5) 86-104% (average 94%), and from UFH plasma (n=5) 87-102% (average 94%). Linearity in serum was 89-100% (1:2), 91-100% (1:4), and 86-104% (1:8); in EDTA plasma 84-101%, 83-94%, and 83-95%; and in UFH plasma 80-100%, 86-100%, and 89-100%. Intra-Assay CV was CV<8% and Inter-Assay CV was CV<10%. Storage is at 4°C for 6 months, and the kit is For Research Use Only.
