Human Galactoside-binding soluble lectin 13 (LGALS13) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie provides a sandwich-format ELISA for the quantitative measurement of human Galactoside-binding soluble lectin 13 (LGALS13), also referred to as Galectin-13, Placental tissue protein 13, Gal-13, PP13, and PLAC8. The kit is intended for research use only and is targeted at cell biology applications. LGALS13 functions as a beta-galactoside and lactose binder and is a strong inducer of T-cell apoptosis; the protein exists as a disulfide-linked homodimer (UniProt Q9UHV8). LGALS13 has been implicated in pregnancy complications, cancer progression, and immune disorders.

The assay uses a colorimetric detection method read at 450 nm and has been validated for use with human samples, including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. Reported performance figures include a detection range of 15.6-1000pg/mL, a sensitivity of 7.1pg/mL, intra-assay CV of 5.9%, and inter-assay CV of 8.4%. Recovery is reported as 101% (range 95-107%) for serum and 103% (range 97-109%) for plasma, and linearity has been assessed across serial dilutions in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma. The kit is specific for natural and recombinant human LGALS13.
