Human GAL3ST1 ELISA Kit (HUFI04199)

This assay from Assay Genie targets galactose-3-O-sulfotransferase 1 (GAL3ST1), a Golgi-membrane enzyme that catalyses the transfer of a sulfate group from PAPS to the 3-hydroxyl of galactose on glycosphingolipids, producing sulfatides that are major constituents of myelin. Researchers use quantitative measurement of GAL3ST1 to investigate sulfatide biosynthesis, myelin maintenance, neuroinflammation, and glycosphingolipid metabolism disorders, with growing interest in oncology and lipid-biology studies where altered sulfation patterns have been reported.
