Human G6PD (Glucose-6-phosphate 1-dehydrogenase) ELISA Kit

Designed for the precise measurement of Glucose-6-Phosphate 1-Dehydrogenase (G6PD) levels in human research samples, this Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie uses a double-antibody format and a colorimetric detection method. The kit is intended for the quantification of G6PD, an enzyme of the pentose phosphate pathway that plays a key role in red blood cell metabolism and protection against oxidative stress.

Acceptable sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The assay has a sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL and a range of 0.313-20 ng/mL, and the kit is stored at 2-8°C for 12 months. In-house validation reported linearity of 91-105% (1:2), 91-102% (1:4) and 85-104% (1:8) for serum, with recovery of 85-100% (average 91%) for serum, 86-100% (average 92%) for EDTA plasma and 85-101% (average 91%) for heparin plasma.

Mutations in the G6PD gene can lead to G6PD deficiency, which can result in hemolytic anemia and other health complications, making accurate measurement of G6PD relevant to studies of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, malaria susceptibility, and drug-induced hemolysis.
