The Human FPGT ELISA Kit from Assay Genie enables quantitative measurement of Fucose-1-Phosphate Guanylyltransferase, the enzyme that converts GTP and fucose-1-phosphate into GDP-fucose in the de novo biosynthetic route. GDP-fucose serves as the sugar donor for fucosylation of cell-surface glycoproteins and secreted glycoconjugates, a post-translational modification linked to leukocyte trafficking, Notch signaling, and tumor cell invasion. FPGT expression has been examined in primary liver, kidney, and brain tissue, and altered FPGT activity has been reported in hepatocellular carcinoma and in patients with congenital disorders of glycosylation. The kit supports quantitative ELISA measurements in human specimens for research use only. Reagents should be refrigerated at 4°C and protected from light; allow the microplate and components to equilibrate to room temperature before running the assay. Each kit provides a pre-coated microplate, lyophilized standards, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, and wash and substrate buffers.
