Performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.11ng/mL. Reported precision values are an intra-assay CV of 4.8% and an inter-assay CV of 9.3%. In dilution linearity testing, serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples were assessed at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16, with recovery averaging 95% in serum (range 89-101%) and 97% in plasma (range 91-103%).

Follistatin-related protein 3 is a secreted glycoprotein of the follistatin-module-protein family that functions as a binding and antagonizing protein for members of the TGF-beta family, including activin A, activin B, BMP2 and MSTN.
