Human Folate receptor beta (FOLR2) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA developed by Assay Genie for the quantitative detection of human Folate Receptor Beta (FOLR2) in research samples. The kit is reactive with human specimens and is intended for cancer research applications, where FOLR2 serves as a biomarker of interest. FOLR2 is a GPI-anchored membrane protein that binds folate and reduced folic acid derivatives, mediating the delivery of 5-methyltetrahydrofolate and folate analogs into the interior of cells, with high affinity at neutral pH. The protein is localised to the cell membrane as a lipid/GPI anchor and can also be secreted.

Acceptable sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method with absorbance read at 450 nm. The manufacturer reports a detection range of 15.6–1000 pg/mL and a sensitivity of 5.2 pg/mL. Reported precision values are an intra-assay CV of 4.6% and an inter-assay CV of 8.1%. Linearity has been evaluated across serial dilutions in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. Recovery averaged 103% in serum (range 97–109%) and 105% in plasma (range 99–111%). The kit is specific for natural and recombinant human Folate receptor beta (UniProt P14207) and is supplied with the standard workflow components: ELISA microplate, lyophilized standard, sample and assay diluents, detection reagents, wash buffer, substrate and stop solution.
