Human FNDC5/Fibronectin type III domain-containing 5 ELISA Kit

FNDC5 is a transmembrane precursor protein expressed abundantly in skeletal muscle and in several peripheral tissues; regulated proteolytic cleavage releases the ~12 kDa myokine irisin into circulation, where it promotes a brown-fat-like phenotype in white adipose and contributes to systemic energy homeostasis. This quantitative immunoassay from Assay Genie is intended to measure FNDC5/irisin in human biofluid specimens, including serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma fractions, and is widely used in research on exercise physiology, obesity, type 2 diabetes mellitus, and bone remodeling.

The kit ships with pre-coated microwells, lyophilized recombinant standards, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, and substrate buffer sufficient for 96 reactions in a single plate run, leaving additional well positions for a standard curve and unknown samples run in duplicate. Store unopened components refrigerated to preserve capture antibody activity; reconstituted standards and detection antibody should be aliquoted into single-use vials to limit freeze-thaw cycles.
