Human Filaggrin ELISA Kit

This colorimetric Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of Human Filaggrin (FLG) concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids. The kit is intended for the precise measurement of Filaggrin levels in human biological samples such as serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants, offering exceptional sensitivity and specificity for dependable and consistent results.

Filaggrin is a key protein involved in skin barrier function and hydration, playing a crucial role in maintaining skin health and integrity. Imbalances in Filaggrin levels have been linked to various skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, and atopic dermatitis, making it a valuable biomarker for studying these conditions and exploring potential therapeutic interventions. The protein aggregates keratin intermediate filaments and promotes disulfide-bond formation among the intermediate filaments during terminal differentiation of mammalian epidermis, and defects in FLG are associated with ichthyosis vulgaris and susceptibility to dermatitis atopic type 2.

The kit is reactive with human samples and uses a colorimetric detection method. Sensitivity is reported as 0.188 ng/ml with a range of 0.313–20 ng/ml. Recovery rates in spiked matrices are 97–104% (average 100%) for serum, 86–105% (average 96%) for EDTA plasma, and 91–100% (average 97%) for UFH plasma. Linearity ranges across serial dilutions are 88–103%, 86–103%, and 85–96% for serum; 84–97%, 86–99%, and 86–100% for EDTA plasma; and 86–93%, 80–93%, and 81–96% for UFH plasma. Coefficients of variation are CV<8% intra-assay and CV<10% inter-assay.
