Fibronectin is a high-molecular-weight extracellular matrix glycoprotein (approximately 440 kDa) that circulates in plasma and is deposited by fibroblasts, endothelial cells, and many other cell types into the surrounding matrix. It participates in wound healing, embryogenesis, blood clot formation, and tumor cell invasion by engaging integrin receptors and organizing cytoskeletal architecture, which is why circulating fibronectin levels are widely studied as indicators of fibrosis, hepatic injury, cardiovascular remodeling, and metastatic progression.

This kit is configured for use with cell culture supernatants, plasma samples, and serum specimens from human donors, enabling laboratories to track fibronectin secretion by cultured cells as well as systemic changes in patient-derived samples.
