Human Fibromodulin (FMOD) ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA is designed for the colorimetric quantification of human Fibromodulin (FMOD) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. The kit detects both natural and recombinant human Fibromodulin and is intended for research use only.

The assay has a stated detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.156ng/mL. Reported precision values are an Intra CV of 5.1% and an Inter CV of 8.9%. Linearity has been characterised across dilutions (1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16, N=5) in serum (98-106%, 90-100%, 117-127%, 106-117%), EDTA plasma (109-121%, 99-109%, 107-117%, 88-98%) and heparin plasma (103-111%, 102-111%, 93-104%, 108-120%). Recovery is reported as an average of 106% (range 100-112%) in serum and 108% (range 102-114%) in plasma.

Fibromodulin is a secreted extracellular matrix protein (UniProt Q06828, molecular weight 43,179 Da, gene FMOD, NCBI Gene ID 2331, chromosomal location 1q32) belonging to the small leucine-rich proteoglycan (SLRP) family, SLRP class II. It binds type I and type II collagen and is described as affecting the rate of fibril formation, with a role in collagen fibrillogenesis.
