Human Fibroblast growth factor 8 (FGF8) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of human Fibroblast Growth Factor 8 (FGF8) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants, and other biological fluids. The assay detects natural and recombinant human FGF8, also known by the synonyms Androgen-induced growth factor, Heparin-binding growth factor 8, AIGF, HBGF-8, and FGF-8, and is reactive with human samples using a colorimetric ELISA detection method.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 15.6-1000pg/mL, a sensitivity of 7.80pg/mL, an intra-assay CV of 7.3% and an inter-assay CV of 10.2%. Reported linearity for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions is given in the manufacturer's documentation, and recovery averages 97% (range 91-103) for serum and 99% (range 93-105) for plasma. FGF8 is described as a secreted growth factor (UniProt P55075) that plays an important role in the regulation of embryonic development, cell proliferation, cell differentiation and cell migration, and is required for normal brain, eye, ear and limb development during embryogenesis, as well as for normal development of the gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) neuronal system.
