Human Fibroblast growth factor 4 (FGF4) ELISA Kit

A high-quality sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of human Fibroblast growth factor 4 (FGF4) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit uses a double-antibody sandwich format in which the target protein is captured on a pre-coated microplate, detected with a biotin-conjugated antibody, and visualised via HRP-conjugated avidin reacting with a TMB substrate, with the optical density read at 450 nm ± 2 nm after a sulfuric acid stop solution is added. A Bradford Reagent is included to allow total protein quantification for sample normalisation.

FGF4 is a secreted member of the fibroblast growth factor family (UniProt P08620, molecular weight 12,237 Da) with synonyms including HST, HST-1, HSTF1, HBGF-4, K-FGF, KFGF and heparin secretory-transforming protein 1. It plays an important role in the regulation of embryonic development, cell proliferation and cell differentiation, and is required for normal limb and cardiac valve development during embryogenesis. FGF4 interacts with FGFR1, FGFR2, FGFR3 and FGFR4, with affinity increased by heparan sulfate glycosaminoglycans, and is associated with cancer research applications.

Performance characteristics reported by Assay Genie include a detection range of 78–5000 pg/mL, a sensitivity of 21 pg/mL, an intra-assay CV of 3.5% and an inter-assay CV of 5.8%. The kit shows natural and recombinant human FGF4 specificity and is intended for research use only.
