Human Fibrillin-3 (FBN3) ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie provides a precise tool for measuring human Fibrillin-3 (FBN3) levels in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Fibrillin-3 is a key protein in the extracellular matrix, playing a crucial role in the structural integrity of connective tissues, and mutations in the FBN3 gene have been associated with various genetic disorders, including Marfan syndrome and stiff skin syndrome.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.23ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 4.1% and inter-assay CV is 7.5%. Linearity values for serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma span 86-117% across dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16. Recovery averages 98% for serum (range 92-104%) and 100% for plasma (range 94-106%). Specificity has been demonstrated against natural and recombinant human Fibrillin-3.

Fibrillins are structural components of 10-12 nm extracellular calcium-binding microfibrils, which occur either in association with elastin or in elastin-free bundles, and Fibrillin-containing microfibrils provide long-term force bearing structural support. The protein is localized to the secreted extracellular space and extracellular matrix, and the kit is supplied for research use only within the Signal Transduction research area.
