Human Fibrillin-2 (FBN2) ELISA Kit

The colorimetric assay detects natural and recombinant human Fibrillin-2 and is intended for research use only.

According to the manufacturer's data sheet, the assay has a detection range of 78-5000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 35pg/mL, with intra-assay precision of 6.2% and inter-assay precision of 9.6%. The kit supports cardiovascular research and the broader study of connective tissue biology.

Fibrillin-2 is a structural component of 10–12 nm extracellular calcium-binding microfibrils that regulate the early process of elastic fiber assembly. The protein is secreted into the extracellular matrix (UniProt P35556), where it contributes to tissue structure and elasticity and regulates osteoblast maturation by controlling TGF-beta bioavailability and calibrating TGF-beta and BMP levels. Defects in FBN2 are linked to distal arthrogryposis type 9 (DA9), a connective tissue disorder characterized by contractures, arachnodactyly, scoliosis, and crumpled ears.
