Human FGF2/bFGF ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human FGF2 (basic fibroblast growth factor, bFGF) concentrations in serum, plasma, and other biological fluids. The kit uses a double-antibody sandwich format with colorimetric detection and is supplied for research use only.

FGF2/bFGF is a critical growth factor involved in cell proliferation, differentiation, and angiogenesis, with established roles in cancer, wound healing, and tissue repair, making it a valuable biomarker for research applications. The associated protein (UniProt P09038) belongs to the heparin-binding growth factor family and functions as a potent mitogen involved in cell survival, division, and migration.

Performance specifications include a sensitivity of 7.5 pg/ml and a measurable range of 12.5–800 pg/mL (1 ng = 800 mIU). Recovery was validated across serum (average 96%), EDTA plasma (average 99%), and UFH plasma (average 99%), with consistent linearity demonstrated upon serial dilution of spiked samples. Intra-assay CV is below 8% and inter-assay CV is below 10%. The kit is supplied with a dismountable ELISA microplate, lyophilized standard, sample/standard dilution buffer, biotin-labeled antibody, antibody dilution buffer, HRP-streptavidin conjugate (SABC), SABC dilution buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution, wash buffer, and plate sealers. Most components are stored at 4°C for six months, with the lyophilized standard stored at 4°C or –20°C. Required ancillary equipment includes a microplate reader with a 450 nm filter, pipettes, an incubator, and distilled or deionized water.
