Human Ferrochelatase, mitochondrial (FECH) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative detection of human Ferrochelatase, mitochondrial (FECH) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Ferrochelatase is a key enzyme in the mitochondrial heme biosynthetic pathway, catalyzing the ferrous insertion into protoporphyrin IX, and is essential for the production of hemoglobin and other heme-containing proteins. Dysregulation of FECH has been linked to porphyrias and iron overload syndromes, highlighting its relevance as a biomarker.

The kit shows a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.078ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 4.9% and inter-assay CV is 7.9%. Linearity has been validated in serum (101-113% at 1:2, 95-107% at 1:4, 88-100% at 1:8, 110-120% at 1:16), EDTA plasma (103-114%, 88-100%, 107-119%, 103-112%) and heparin plasma (92-101%, 103-113%, 104-114%, 108-117%). Recovery averages 95% in serum (range 89-101%) and 97% in plasma (range 91-103%). The assay is specific for natural and recombinant human Ferrochelatase and is intended for research use only.
