Human Ferritin, Light Polypeptide (FTL) ELISA Kit

An immunoassay from Assay Genie for quantitative measurement of the ferritin light polypeptide (FTL) in human research specimens. FTL is the ~19 kDa light subunit of ferritin, the principal intracellular iron-storage protein that sequesters Fe3+ within a hollow nanocage. This kit supports studies of systemic iron homeostasis, where circulating ferritin concentration reflects body iron stores, and is applied in research on hereditary hyperferritinemia-cataract syndrome and neuroferritinopathy, both linked to FTL gene mutations.

Compatible specimen matrices include serum-derived fractions, plasma-derived fractions, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, and clarified cell culture supernatants, enabling translational work across clinical iron-status assessment, hepatic and inflammatory disease research, and cell-based iron metabolism studies.

The microplate-based kit provides reagents for 96 assays and includes a pre-coated plate, calibrated standards, detection antibody, buffers, and substrate. Signal development is measured with a standard absorbance plate reader. Reagents should be stored refrigerated upon arrival and protected from light. Intended for research use only.
