Description

Assay Genie's Human FE (Ferritin) CLIA Kit is a chemiluminescence-based sandwich assay designed for the quantitative measurement of ferritin levels in human serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants. The kit targets ferritin (FE), an iron-storage protein whose abnormal levels are associated with iron deficiency anemia, hemochromatosis, and other iron-related disorders, making it a useful tool for research into iron homeostasis and inflammation.

The workflow employs a micro CLIA plate pre-coated with an antibody specific to Human FE, with a biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate added sequentially. The Relative Light Unit (RLU) value, measured on a chemiluminescence immunoassay analyzer, is positively correlated with Human FE concentration. The kit reports a sensitivity of 18.75 pg/mL and a detection range of 31.25-2000 pg/mL, with a total assay time of 3.5h. The required sample volume is 100 µL, and the application covers serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Performance validation shows linearity ranges of 86-116% across dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16 for serum, EDTA plasma, and cell culture media. Recovery ranges from 95-115% across sample types, with averages of 102% (serum), 106% (EDTA plasma), and 106% (cell culture media). Intra-assay CV ranges from 9.26% to 10.51% and inter-assay CV from 7.33% to 9.7%. Both intra-CV and inter-CV are < 15%, with no significant cross-reactivity or interference between Human FE and analogues observed.
